Access

Going to zackenberg or Daneborg 2026?

All project applications for access to Zackenberg must be submitted by 15 January 2026.

  • A tentative flight schedule and a slightly adjusted price list for 2026 will be published in January 2026. Until then, please refer to the 2025 documents.
  • Spring cargo should be sent by mid-February 2026, with earlier shipments preferred. Additional cargo is scheduled for shipment during 6-10 of July 2026. On-demand shipments should account for a shipping time buffer of approximately four weeks to Akureyri (AEY).
  • Due to intensive new building activities, station availability will be limited in Aug-Sep 2026. The station team will do what’s possible to minimize practical inconveniences in relation to construction.

To visit Zackenberg Research Station or Daneborg, you are required to complete the Zackenberg online application form (below), including all relevant details about your project and team. By applying for access, you and your collaborators agree to comply with all regulations and conditions described in the Zackenberg Site Manual, available in the right-hand column.

  •  Please check all documents in the panel to your right, where you can find the most relevant information.

Zackenberg and Daneborg are located within the Northeast Greenland National Park. Access to these areas is subject to regulations set by the Government of Greenland, as outlined in an official Executive Order.

Please notice that applying for access to Zackenberg or Daneborg presupposes the applicant and co-workers to comply with the regulations and conditions stated in the Zackenberg Site Manual (which you can find in the column to your right).

In your application, remember to specify whether you need:

  • Transport of cargo or equipment

  • Storage for samples, equipment, or batteries

  • Lab space or access to the workshop

  • Assistance from station technicians

  • Intend to bring or use chemicals
